I'm working on a large database full of tens of millions of rows of time series data. To extract the data, I developed custom SQL queries across multiple tables with a Tableau parameter embedded in each them to filter a certain date.
These tables are then exported as Tableau extracts. My question is that is it possible to get Tableau to regenerate and refresh all of my tables (all created with custom SQL) whenever I change the specified parameter in Tableau?
I don't think there is a way to automate it, but if an extract is active and you change the custom SQL parameter, Tableau will prompt you to refresh the extracts manually.
