The multiple mark types is still there, but it looks different (see image). Now there is a header for each measure (axis) that will allow you to customize everything related to the marks for each axis. You can expand them by clicking on the measure name in the header.
Thanks Joshua, but what if I need two marks for the same measure? I am working on this workbook: http://public.tableausoftware.com/views/NBATeamRelocation/NBATeamRelocationMap, and wish to change the team name into its logo use Shape. However, it seems to me that "Shape" and "Path" mark can not be used at the same time. Many thanks!
Place another instance of Latitute on the rows shelf, right click on it and select Dual Axis. Right click on it again and select Mark Type>Shape. Then, go to Latitute (2) on the Marks card and make sure it is set to Shape. Remove SUM(Year Stayed) from the size shelf. Place Current Team Name on the shape shelf.
Hope this helps!
Thanks Tracy, this one works!
Hi Tracy, as I successfully displayed the shape, there comes some formatting issues... As you can see the shapes are placed beneath the line and overlapped with each other at some places... Is there a way to fix this or hide some of them? I tried to select a single shape and choose "Always Hide", but it's not working. Thanks!
I know it's too late now (almost a year later), but I came to this thread trying to create a multiple mark types and I can answer the last question.
To keep the measure that was set as secondary axis always behind the other marks, right click on the secondary axis > Move marks to front. Yay!
By the way, thanks Tracy Rodgers for your help. You saved my day!
