This should be fairly easy, but will depend a little on how your data is structured. Would you be able to post some sample data (mask sensitive values if necessary)? Thanks!
Hi Joshua, maybe the screnshot is invisible yet, but I posted it with the view I need to achieve.
In any case thanks for the help. I achieved what I wanted through bins on profit measure. It seems to work quite good, but I still have one issue. Against each bucket/bin of spend ranges I need to have two lines of input, one for one year and second line for another year. I also achieved it but the years numbers appear on the right to the bins and I don't want to see them there, I only want to see the two lines, each line for each year and show which year is wich with legend.
Thanks. I'll add another screenshot now.
If you right click your Year dimension used in the chart and uncheck Show Header, Tableau will hide the Year headers while still maintaining the split on the visualization itself. With the legend, you and your users should be able to then visually see the difference without the overtly displayed labels.
Hope this helps,
thanks for the tips, "remove the header" did the trick, but now I'm facing another challenge.
the bin that I created with ranges on spend measure does work ok, but it turns out I need manually defined ranges and not with a constant step.
I need something like
1 to 5K
5K to 25K
25K to 100K
100K to 500K
500K to 1M
Any idea on how I could make these ranges manually defined?
