Can you post a basic sample (Packaged Workbook) that the folks here can work with? Without seeing exactly what you're dealing with, it'll be tough to give you guidance,.
Sure, here's an example. The output might require the data model to change, which is fine by me: it's easy enough to automate how the initial spreadsheet is laid out. As you can see, there are investors linked to companies, but I want the investors to toggle visibility when the company is clicked on.
If I understand correctly, you wish to hide one type of location (investor) on a map until another type (company) is selected. Once the first selection is made, you wish to hide the initial type (company) and only show the second type (investor) related to the first type (company). Then, you would like to go back to the initial view and reset all the filters by selecting an investor location.
Since there is no way to reset the filters (many have requested, hopefully one day we'll receive), that approach won't work. However, what you could do is try using two worksheets (one for investors and one for companies). Would something like the attached work?
Hope this helps,

Hi Andy - thanks for getting back to me and that is helpful. I had no need to hide the original 'company' point (that always stays visible) but yes, you had the rest of it, right (e.g. disappearing investors).
Have a great day.
