Feb 27, 2013 Viz of the Day De-construction

I was just reviewing today's VOTD, here: http://www.tableausoftware.com/public/gallery/childbirth-economics

Like many I suppose, I receive the votd to see what others are doing with various types of data. Besides the overall treatment of data, I often see small things that I'd like to add to my bag of tricks. The Tooltip use on the "Births, 1991-2011" dashboard, top line plot, is interesting.  There's so much that can be done with the Tooltip..very useful.

OK..my question, with respect to the "Interactive maps" dashboard...how can I de-construct this to see how it was all done?  Clicking on a zipcode brings up a useful dialogue..basically the Tooltip function. When zooming out the viz appears to be Google Maps-sourced, however I haven't been able to access the URL to look at the source.

Does anyone understand how this viz was done & to a point to recreate it using my own data-construct?
