I've attached a workbook that shows, as an example, how to get the last three months of sales for each customer where some may have had sales many months ago and some may be more recent. The workbook contains instructions and explanation. Please take a look and let me know if you have any questions.
If you have any specifics for your case, please post a packaged workbook (which is recommended when posting a question as it allows everyone to see exactly what you are working with -- you can use dummy data if your data is sensitive).

Thanks a lot for your great and quick response, it works !
I never used before the INDEX function but I'll do it now as it's very powerfull.
How do I use the same sample workbook to show the SUM(Sales) for the last 3 available month for each customer without showing the months on the table? is there a way to do that? I took the month out and obviously the Index formula stops working.
I am running into a similar issue with the Index() that you just stated above. When I remove the months, it clearly isn't working.
Have you guys found a way to incorporate Index() into the table calc so we can remove months from our view and just get the rolled up sum?
