Refreshing the Data Source after Server Download

I was under the impression that if you download a packaged workbook from Server, the connection information to the database is wrapped in the connection string therefore allowing me to access the database and do a refresh without a database account. Is this correct??

          Hi Lee -

Nope, that would be a pretty big security hole. When a workbook is downloaded we return the same connection string that was in the workbook when it was uploaded, minus the password (if one was embedded when the workbook was published).

Since it sounds like your workbook authenticates against SQL Server using AD, you're hitting SQL Server with your AD credentials, which are failing (as they should based on the fact you don't have permissions).
