It looks like Tableau Desktop cannot reach a revocation server at public.tableausoftware.com. As this particular error verbiage is not particular to Tableau Desktop, the solution may be found elsewhere. Internet searches suggest a few possible resolutions:
- Ensure that the Tableau Desktop client can reach public.tableausoftware.com . Use ping or other network utilities to verify.
- Ensure that the system date is set properly on machines in question.
- Antivirus or firewall may be preventing the requested traffic from passing. If such software is running on the Tableau Desktop, try disabling it temporarily and see if the issue is resolved.
- Identical errors have been reported in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Since Tableau Desktop uses the many elements of IE, changing an IE setting may resolve the issue:
A. Open IE9
B. Go to Tools > Internet Options
C. Click on the Advanced tab and scroll down
D. Under Security, uncheck the box "Check
for publisher's certificate revocation".
E. Uncheck the box "Check for server
F. Click OK.
Hope one of these help!
Thanks Tracy - the IE9 settings were the problem.
It worked perfectly for me. Thanks Tracy!
