Your best bet is to skip the joining altogether and convert your month ID into a real date in Tableau.
Something like Date(right(str([Month_Id]),2)+"/1/"+left(str([Month_Id]),4))
This would allow you to use all of the date functionality of Tableau.
But please take this as a simple id not date & i want Select Month_desc, Sum(Total_sales) from Month_table inner join Sales_table on Month_id group by Month_desc. I want to group by according to Month_desc. When i simply join tables then it gives me wrong values as it does not use Group_by function.
I just find the answer of my question. As i joined tables on Left Join & it gives me correct answer. I am new on Tableau, so i don't know much about it but response from people is good.
Thanks Alex again for your quick response.
