Thanks for the link but its of a little help. I already used this but this only create a link with google whenever you click on the created link it will redirect you to the google page.
Act i want to add google map in tableau sheet itself. I know according to the link you provided it can be done but i have a little knowledge of API & HTML coding. Can you help me on this ???
Can I be impertinent and ask why? What are you plotting in lat/long? It maybe possible to do/show what you require inside Tableau's own mapping.
Could you post a picture of what you are trying to achieve? It might be easier to use a WMS server, or a custom urbanmapping.com solution...
I need to show details using lat/long which is not possible in tableau inbuilt maps. so i want to use google maps.
Can you tell me a good WMS server for the same ???
Thanks in advance
Dheeraj, I'm with Allan on this. You continue to say "... not possible in Tableau" but I don't understand what specifically you think is not possible. (?) You can bring in a list of your own lat/longs and Tableau will automatically plot those for you. You understand this, right?
Please explain what "details" you are trying to show? What will Google Maps show that Tableau won't?
Is your data confidential? If not, drop some sample data including lat/longs into a Google Doc spreadsheet with an explanation of what you are trying to do - and maybe when I get some time I can help out a bit?
WMS may/may not be the answer - it's just part of the solution. If it's needed though, I can help with that too.
Hi all, I would like to use a google map as my background map because I think the look and feel is better than the traditional tableau map. Does anyone know how to do this? I followed the steps listed here (http://kb.tableausoftware.com/articles/knowledgebase/linking-google-maps ), but the background map still hasn't change.
Can anyone be helpful?
