Tableau performance connecting to one vs two sql databases

    Sten Lomme

This is a general design issue question. We have the possibility to decide our db structure.

We will blend electronic usage data with weather data. Which of these scenarios would result in the best performance in Tableau?

      - Usage data and weather data in the same sql database...stored in different tables.

      - Usage data stored in one db and weather data in another db, running on the same sql instance.

      - Usage data stored in one db and weather data in another db, running on two different sql instances.

      Thanks for your feedback...
