I will take a look at Relative Data filter option you mentioned. Could you please tell me how i can get to the screen shot from the Desktop?
Sure...place the date field on the Filters shelf, then right click on it and choose Filter. If the field is configured as a Date field, you will see the screen capture view from above.
One more, the last 7 days will not begin with the current date but yesterdays date...how can i do that?

If data for today won't be in the data, there's no need to worry about it, just set the filter above for the last 8 days from today; thus leaving only the previous 7 days.
However, if the data with today's date will be present, you will need to use a combination of filters. First, use the filter described above to include the last 8 days. Then create a calculated field with the following formula:
Date([Date Field])=TODAY() >where [Date Field] is the name of your field that includes the date.
You should see a T/F symbol to the left of the new calculated field. Place this new calculated field onto the filters shelf and only check False.
