Excluding null values from an index

    Alex Lea

      Hello all

I've got some monthly website usage data for fifteen councils that we've ranked using INDEX according to hits each month.

The problems is that there is some nulls where we don't have data which Tableau is automatically ranking instead of missing it out (i.e. ranking it 15th out of fifteen)

Is there some way we can use INDEX but excluding the null values so councils with no data are not ranked for that month? I'm guessing that it might involve IFNULL, but I'm pretty new to using calculated fields so not entirely sure how I should use it!

      Any suggestion gratefully appreciated!
