    Calculating Market Share from Averages

    Ryan Allen

I'm trying to calculate market share, and I have no problem with the numerator (our encounters) because it's just straight numbers. But the data for the denominator (total market encounters) is broken down by ZIP code (i.e. each ZIP in a region has the same market encounter number) so I have to show it as an average to get the correct information. My question is, how do I get the total of averages so that I can use it as a denominator? Thanks for any help in advance!
