Tableau Desktop saves workbooks in the Tableau Repository folder. By default, this folder is located in your "My Documents" folder. For example, C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Tableau Repository.
You can find and change the current Tableau Repository location through Tableau Desktop by clicking the File Menu and choosing Repository Location.
Thanks for the response, but it is not exaclty what I was looking for. I am looking for a way to store the location in which the file is saved into a variable (or parameter) that I could use in say a URL link. That way if I move the file, it will still be able to link to things in the folder it is in. Thanks
Jeremy, I'm wanting to do the same thing because I want to stick some files in the packaged workbook data folder, and then use a url to display them. Of course every time the workbook is closed and opened a temp path is created with a different number, which breaks the link.
Hoping someone knows how to do a path substitution thing.
