I need some guidance on a formula to give the the index of a number in a group. Example: Let say data is sales and the values are 10,12,15,13,11 for the last 5 days. I want to index these against the average of the population. The average for the example is 12.2. The indexes should be 0.82 (10/12.2), .98, 1.23, 1.07, 0.90.
The viz would look like this:
M T W Th F Total
SalesA 0.82 0.98 1.23 1.07 .90 1.00
Thanks in advance
Hi Andrew
see attached.
I created a WINDOW_AVG calc and then another index calc which divides my sales by that window average.
You can throw it all in one calc too, I just split them up for you to see what it does.
Basically it would just be SUM(SALES) / WINDOW_AVG(SUM(SALES))
Hope that helps
