Formulas in an Annotation on a map

I have a map of Texas which has every Region on it.  I am trying to figure out a way for my annotated boxes I have over every region to be able to plug in data from it found elsewhere in Tableau.  is there any way to do this so I don't have to edit the text in every region and manually put in statistics?

If you add a field to the Level of Detail, that field will show up in the list of fields that can be inserted into the annotation (and/or tool tip). The one thing to be careful of is that if the field is a dimension, that can change the set of marks that are displayed. There are various workarounds for that, if that is the case for you let us know!
