The workbook was not attached. However, does adding the reference line across the scope of the Entire Table give the desired output?
Oops - thought I had attached it. I've added it now to the main message.
Unfortunately, a reference line across the scope of the entire table doesn't work. That shows a single average value across all competitors, seasons and games. I need a separate line for each competitor, showing their average points across all of their seasons and games.
How about creating a table calc that caclulates the average of points on the level of player, putting it on the LoD shelf, and then using it as a reference line? Attached is the example. The only thing I could not figure out how to do nicely is to show the AVG value as a label, not only in the tooltip, but anyway hope this helps!
That did it - many thanks!
I tried adding a label to this new reference line and found that it repeats itself for each season, rather than appearing just once per player. While not perfect, it's adequate. Using a different font color for these new lines and labels helps distinguish them from the more-detailed averages, and the printed versions are clear enough despite this label replication.
