Problem with join - Microsoft JET database error: Inconsistency of types in expression

    Grzegorz Mikulski

I am trying to join two excel databases. In first I have gereral costs, in second I have costs per location.

I have already joined fields [MONTH], [YEAR], [ENTITY NAME], [ENTITY CODE]. But when I try to join [LOCATION CODE] I get an error:

Microsoft JET database error 0x80004005: Inconsistency of types in expression (literal translation from Polish).

What is the reason I'm getting this message? How can I avoid it? My location code is always a number in first Data source, but in second I sometimes have Location name in this field.

However, I defined Dimensions as String in both data sources.

Can anyone help me with this?
