1. Re: Filters to affect multiple datasources
Russell Christopher Jun 15, 2012 4:07 AM (in response to sinadashtipour)Hi Sina -
The conversation I'm having here http://community.tableau.com/thread/118454 is very similar to what you're looking for: "I want a single filter to act against multuiple datasources". The info you need is towards the end of the thread in question
Have fun!

2. Re: Filters to affect multiple datasources
sinadashtipour Jun 15, 2012 6:18 AM (in response to Russell Christopher)Hi Russell,
I did try to your approach with the use of Parameters. However, I am not able to drop the new fields to the Filters shelf. I can only drop new field which is coming from the primary data source, NOT from secondary data source.
I have also tried to use the Action Filter feature, But I can only set filters on columns from the primary data source to primary data source. Not primary --> secondary.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.

3. Re: Filters to affect multiple datasources
Russell Christopher Jun 15, 2012 6:39 AM (in response to sinadashtipour)Sorry, it wasn't clear you were using Blending - I didn't look at your sample.
Try this:
- In each data source, make a duplicate of the date field and rename it to "Year".
- Add "Year" from "Downloads" data source to Level of Detail
- Remove existing filter
- Right-click Year in Level of Detail and Show Quickfilter
