I'm not sure how you've set up your data so this is just a guess. I set something up in the attached using Measure Names on columns and Measure Values on rows, with the dimension to group by also on Columns but to the right of Rows. Is this what you're looking for?

Thanks for your quick input.
What I was trying to do was something that looked like the image below with space between the bars, since my Tableau work has to fit into the same basic layout as slides that others have created using
Excel. I can acheive this by exporting the Tableau data in an Excel cross tab and then taking the resulting
excel graph and pasting it into the presentation, but that seems a bit clunky.
I'm really looking for variable separation between the bars in the graph in Tableau.
