Can/how do you remove the white circles/shapes from non-highlighted items?

    John Kanady

I just started using Tableau 7.0 a few days ago and am still quite the newbie.

I have a table of items with x and y coordinate information that is being displayed on a custom background image.  I've gotten the items to display on the image in their locations as different colored circles based on their particular category.

When I select a particular category it displays the items of the selected/highlight color, but the rest of the non-highlighted items still appear as white circles over the background image.  Is there a way to get them to toggle completely off or become totally transparent when they are not highlighted?

Thank you for any help/information that you may be able to provide!
