Here's one way:
Create a calculated field, I called it "Product for Filter" in the attached workbook:
What this does is use Tableau's LOOKUP() table calculation function to get the product. Set that to Discrete and put that on your Filter shelf, in place of the existing Product Filter. Filters on table calculations are performed after all other calculations are done, so the rest of your calculations work as you want them to and you are able to effectively hide dimensions from the view.
