There is currently no way to populate two or more web page objects on a dashboard with different URL actions. If there are two or more run-on-select URL actions listed, the first browser object created will be populated by the first action created.
The workarounds are:
- To not use embedded browser objects. This will cause a new page to launch in your default browser for each run-on-select URL action.
- To trigger URL actions from the context menu. The user will then have a choice of actions for populating a single embedded browser object.
Neither option gets you exactly where you wanted to go, but hopefully one of these options will suit you. I'll be submitting your suggestion (for a choice of object destinations on a URL action) to the product team for consideration.
I was wondering if there are any updates to this (can you still not have multiple web page objects with separate URL actions)?
If this is still not possible, can you provide a little more instructions on how to do the second option? What do you mean "From the Context Menu"?
Does tableau have any new features to achieve this?
Are there any updates to this? This seems like a pretty basic feature that is missing. "Target" sheets can be chosen for filter actions, why not URLs?
Do you know if there are any new ways to achieve this functionality?
The training dashboard I am building is currently very limited by being unable to both display a training video and link back to the corresponding Tableau tool from the same page.
