The best work around I could think of was to use the reference line as well. This is a good one to put under Ideas in the Community!

I saw something like this posted to the forums awhile back, I couldn't find the original post so I rebuilt it. The key is to properly prepare the data for Tableau. The basic idea is to create a stacked bar chart for each player where there's a bar going from 0 to the initial value:
Then you can set the color of that initial bar to be the same as the background, effectively wiping it from the view:
The key is to get the calculations correct, I whipped something together in Excel, I don't think this would be too difficult in SQL. For ease, I've attached the workbook and the spreadsheet.
