Date range filters on day, not month level

    Chris Jokel

I noticed in some online workbooks that if there is a date slider filter + chart combo using monthly data, the starting point on the chart will always lead the start point on the slider by one month.

For an example, look at the sample dashboard on Tableau's site: http://www.tableausoftware.com/learn/gallery/real-estate-prices

If you move the start point on the date slider filter to a new point, the date reflected on the slider will be one month behind the first data point on the chart.

I guess this is because the date slider filter is continuous and runs through all the days of the year, rather than all the months of the year.

Is there a workaround for this issue?
