tabcmd get workbook/view.pdf?Market=south -f "folder/file.pdf"
I use above URL to export and it works fine.
Thank you, Sawan.
This works, but it looks like Tableau kept get command for backward compatibility, and superseded it with export. The export allows download of a full workbook, csv export, etc., and it doesn't seem to work with URL parameters. What gives?
I'm getting a similar problem when exporting to PDF using a filter on then URL. Does yours works without the filter? Did you receive any answer?
no, this issue is still current - I have neither solution nor workaround for it. I just put the project on hold and one of our analysts just does it manually every month (takes about an hour for that report).
It works for me.
tabcmd export "<WORKBOOK>/<VIEWNAME>" --pdf -f "<FILENAME>"
When a view is selected <WORKBOOK>/<VIEWNAME> means in my case the following part of the URL:
You have to login before with the correct site mentioned (if not in Default site).
This works for me.
The problem appears when you add filters to the view. You can do that on the web browser but it doesn't work on tabcmd.
For example: <workbook name>/<view name>?region=east
If you have the region field on your view it should be filtered to show only data for that region.
Can you try this?
sorry for not reading your post carefully...
I tried it with parameters. You are right, it doesn't work. I get the error *** 404 "Not Found"
it finally works! Tableau released version 7.0.7 yesterday and now export using parameters is working.
