# Can I display both a total and a percentage within labels?

I have produced a simple bar chart and can display the % of total above the bar using a table calculation.

I can also display the sum value that the bar represents.

The person that the report is for would like for me to display both. Is that possible?

Hi Paul

I've attached one of doing it - you turn one of the measures (I chose the %) into a Discrete measure by right-clicking on the Pill and then put it alongside the Category dimension.

There are a few other ways but i think this is the cleanest.

Cheers

As Andy mentioned there are other ways to do this (see attached). This is usually what my clients are asking for, but it is a lot more work.

Thanks very much guys - I really appreciate the help.

Paul,

I see that others have helped you with some workarounds.  In your example above, how would you like to display both the sum and the % of total?

Would it be 61,481 (6%)

Or would there be another way you would optimally want to display both sum and % of total?

Hi Jun,

61,481 (6%) was the formatting I originally had in mind.

Since we're a full-service forum ... Attached is the format you requested. Note: If you need to get rid of that leading zero for consumers, let me know there are some more IIF contortions we'll need to add.

Sorry - it wasn't supposed to sound ungrateful for the first suggestion!!

Thanks Shawn - that's brilliant.

Paul, you didn't sound ungrateful at all. I just wanted to make sure you got what you were looking for. In fact that leading zero started bugging me so I fixed it for you. (attached)
