You could try just using a straightforward HTTP url and append .PNG to the end of it.
For example, here's a Tableau Public viz:
And if you put .PNG at the end, you get an image:

in fact we can get the image with the way you describe with adding PNG extension in url.
But we use ticket for trusted authentification, and URLs are of the following type :
<Tableau Server>/trusted/<ticket>/views/<Report Name>

You'll have to save the image in a disk location using tabcmd and then get the image via code in your ASP.NET application.
