Exporting a view to csv results in literal "\n" characters in the file rather than line breaks

    Jeff Goldberg

      I'm using Tableau server 7 beta 9.

When I export a view to a csv file, with any of the three methods (tabcmd get, tabcmd export, or using the server web gui) it gives me a file that has actual "\n" literals in the file rather than actual line breaks.

For example, an output might look like this:

      token,token,token\ntoken,token,token\ntoken,token,token\ntoken,token,token

      Instead of looking like this:

       token,token,token
      token,token,token
      token,token,token
      token,token,token

Is this some kind of character encoding bug?

When I use a regex to replace all the "\n" literals with actual line breaks, the file looks very nice.

By the way, I've very excited about the ability to use tabcmd to export to csv file! Thank you!
