    Data Blending with Unique Identifier

    John Mogielnicki

Hello.  I'm wondering if it is possible to blend two datasets that have a common unique identifier.  So, for instance, if I had two datasets about customers, and both contained the same customer IDs, could I then blend the data within Tableau without connecting the records in my datasource.  I could easily connect them in Access using the unique identifier, but it would be more convenient if I could do it with Tableau.  The problem is as far as I can tell the only way to do this is to link the fields based on the customer ID, and then have customer ID in the view.  But say I don't want to include customer ID, because I'm trying to sum up customer data.  Is there a way to connect the records without including the relationship field?

      Thanks.
