I noticed it did not affect weeks that span across two months, and it only happened after extract refresh. Sounds like either a Tableau bug or some weird Oracle date format issue. It could be an error in one of your formulae, but then why did it work before refresh?
I did similar thing on Oracle data and had no issues so far.
I was able to convert Week numbers to names as in the attached sheet. I can then sort in the view by sorting week numbers and hiding the header.
I can not, however, figure out how to sort the names in date order in a quick filter without doing it manually everytime new data comes in. Any help is appreciated.
You can either create week labels with week number in front, or create a week number calculated field and combine it with week label in a set and use that set in you filter. In either case, the week labels will look odd (
50, Dec 10-17), but will sort correctly. I can't think of another method to custom sort values in a quick filter.
I am using the same original instructions: Show Week instead of Week number | Tableau Software
And I'm able to bring the calculated field "Week Name" into the Columns shelf fine. However, when I try to sort by Week Ending, Maximum, everything breaks.
Thanks so much in advance!
