Not really. It's not saved to disk at that point -- however if you're interested in automating this in some fashion, it is just an HTTP interface (I forget if there are async complexities) that we could help you understand.
How can I export all my data that’s in a dataset?
I don’t want to extract data, which creates a Tableau Extract. I want to export every row and column to another file, such as txt, csv, excel or MS Access.
There are too many columns to load every column into a viz and export. Tableau gives an error message, out of memory.
Background: I was thrilled to figure out how to combine 19 text files into just one large file using custom SQL; especially because I got the tip from one of the Tableau Introductory online trainings on the Tableau website.
Now I want to give it to another internal user who isn’t a Tableau user. It won’t do me any good to create a Tableau extract.
I have had this same question. Did you find a workaround or solution by chance? If *feels like I am just overlooking it??
Tableau is not currently designed to serve as a "data producer" or ETL tool. If the current "Export Data" (to Access) or "Copy Data"/"Copy to Crosstab" won't handle your data set, you'll be forced to look for other tools.
If anyone finds a solution to this ....please let me know ....even i am struggling with this thing for a long time
