Views are missing data, but visible when opened again after sometime?
Hello Everyone,
We recently noticed a very unexpected behavior in one of our tableau reports. One of the user mentioned that when they opened the dashboard, they were not able to see data in some parts of the dashboard. They even took a screenshot of the same.
Then, they tried accessing the report after sometime, and they were able to see data correctly for all the views in the dashboard.
Now, points to note is that no extract refresh was performed during this time period, even the workbook was not being refreshed when this happened. Also, nothing was changed from permission point of view i.e. addition to any user group etc and till now only one user has reported this issue.
Also, this workbook utilizes embedded extracts so it's not the issue with live connections as well. Can anyone please throw some light on this behavior?
Unable to connect to PostgreSQL Database with SSL connection is required.
We are facing one issue where we can able to connect postgreSQl database which does not require SSL but which requires SSL we are not able to connect to that DB.
We have Certicates but don't know where to add this, We have .pem extension based certificates
Please let us know how can I achieve the connection to the DB with SSL connection, We are selecting the SSL option also in the connection details.

Updating published data sources after switching to OAuth
Hello Data fam,
I have a bunch of published and workbook embedded data sources that use login/password credentials to connect to Snowflake. I am planning to changing the connection type to use OAuth instead. My question is what's the optimal way to change the connection type in all the data sources in Tableau server?
Can I change authentication method for published data source on tableau server either through UI or Tableau REST API? I saw an idea was submitted 9 years ago but there hasn't been any update since. Is there a workaround other than using desktop?
Here is our use case: Users publish snowflake data source with oauth authentication method and then site admin will edit the published data source on the server to change the authentication method from oauth to username/password using a service account. Site admin will have to download the data source to desktop, change authentication method and then republish. This causes inconvenience to our self-service creators because they will have to rely on site admins to publish their data sources. All published data sources must use service account credential due to our compliance standards.
We have a tableau server hosted in house. Tableau Server Version: 2020.4.1 (20204.21.0114.0916) 64-bit Windows single node as this is a small firm and has not been upgraded since 3 year.
We want to migrate to a new Windows Server 2022 and also upgrade the tableau server to the latest.
what is the best and most efficient way to achieve this without losing any data?
