I'm preparing a case study for an interview and it's due tomorrow. Last week I downloaded a 14 day free trial and I still had 6 days left, it said in the top of the window. I've been leaving Tableau open overnight, usually closing my laptop (Mac Pro Intel Catalina) so it can sleep. I woke up today and the program was frozen. I force quit and when I reopened it took me back to the Activation Screen. I tried clicking on "Start 14 Day Free Trial" and I got the error: "We were unable to start your trial because the following error occurred: there was an unexpected error while trying to repair trusted storage"
I uninstalled the app and restarted my computer, I downloaded it again - I even tried downloading an earlier version. Same issue. I googled around and people mentioned removing the FLEX file but I don't have one at all, no folder even. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm already in crunch time and I am supposed to be working now instead of solving this tech issue. I have a few packaged workbooks I need to work on so I don't think Public is going to cut it.
Hi Tableau Community,
We recently installed Tableau Server on an AWS EC2 instance within our private VPC. We purchased licenses online (https://buy.tableau.com/en-de/#standard) selecting the "1 Creator + 2 Viewer" option, priced at $1260/year. However, the licenses we received are for Tableau Cloud, not Tableau Server.
Our setup requires on-premises Tableau Server licenses, as our server is within a private VPC and needs access to private data. The online purchase process was unclear about the distinction between Cloud and Server licenses. We were under the impression that the "1 Creator + 2 Viewer" option applied to Server as well, especially since we were setting up a server installation. There wasn't a clear indication during the purchase that these licenses were specifically for Cloud.
We've tried contacting Tableau support through various channels without success:
We're now turning to the community for help. Has anyone else experienced this issue? We urgently need to:
Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. We're blocked from proceeding with our Tableau Server setup due to this licensing issue. Thanks in advance for your help!

As I found out on the Tableau homepage, the Explorer license can [Edit existing workbooks and visualizations]
On Tableau cloud why for a workbook created by user_1 and made publish, user_2 with Explorer license can edit that workbook but instead of [Publish], it is [Publish As] to create a new workbook?
I don't want to create a new workbook. Is there a way for user_2 with Explorer license to overwrite user_1's own workbook?
Thank you very much.

I am a student and I am trying to download the student version but whenever I click on get tableau for students through this link https://www.tableau.com/academic/students it keeps redirecting and installing the public version and not providing me any student form so I can get the student access. Can anyone help. I tried using different browser and I also registered by using my school email yet still its downloading the public version.
