I have an unpublished datasource that currently is using a username/password for the connection to Snowflake. While editing the datasource I try to switch the connection to OAuth but I'm unable to. This is a bug that needs to be fixed fairly soon. It should prompt me to login to the database but it's not. I need to switch a lot of reports that work just like this so I can't just create a new datasource.
I am NOT prompted to choose an existing OAuth token or to login. Also this works from Tableau desktop but since I don't want to publish the workbook I can't use that. It needs to work in Tableau online again.
I get the following error:
Can’t connect to Snowflake
Detailed Error Message
The username or password is not valid. Check the database name and credentials and try again.
Tableau needs an unexpired OAuth refresh token to connect to the data. Ask your database administrator to issue a refresh token, then try again.
@David Browne (Tableau) Do you have any ideas? It's bug that's preventing people from using Tableau.
How would I export full data of Tableau Cloud site. for the migration purposes. Or Any easier bulk export option of all SQLs, Dashboards and Virtual connections
Can I publish and schedule a Tableau Prep flow (2024.3 Version) that outputs 3 .csv files to a shared OneDrive/SharePoint "Outputs" folder location? What are my other options?
I have created a Tableau Prep flow that has 6 connections (4 .csv files and 2 .xlsx files).
I want to direct the 6 input files to come from a shared OneDrive/SharePoint "Inputs" folder location, using the OneDrive and SharePoint Online connector, so that whenever the input files are overwritten by somebody in the team the changes are taken into account.
I have a .hyper file coming out as a Published Data Source to be subsequently used in a Tableau workbook and this works well.
However, I also want 3 .csv files to be pushed into a shared OneDrive/SharePoint "Outputs" folder location. Can I achieve this (particularly when considering the planned schedule to run the flow each morning)?
After some research I understand that csv outputs in Tableau Server/Cloud are not fully supported - so I'd like to know what my options are.
I have tried reading through the following links to help support this scenario as well:
Is there any way to view transformations of tables in Snowflake so they pipe into Tableau? For example, we have columns in our Snowflake database that are constructed using case_when statements and I was curious as to if you could view these in Tableau.
Not able to see the Ask Data in cloud , even in setting in latest version of cloud

I'm trying to upload a Microsoft Excel file, but Tableau only shows the files that my professor has added for the class. I'm trying not to add my files to her & having her documents' information within mine by mistake, and then I'll be marked for plagiarism.
I want to obtain the previous year sale of a customer with a calculated field. I have the following formula, but as I add more years, it gets more complicated and larger:
IF [YEAR]='2024' THEN { FIXED [MONTH], [CUSTOMER_ID]: MAX(IF [YEAR]='2023' THEN [SALES] ELSE 0 END)} ELSEIF [YEAR]='2025' THEN { FIXED [MONTH], [CUSTOMER_ID]: MAX(IF [YEAR]='2024' THEN [SALES] ELSE 0 END)} END
This works for years 2025 and 2024, but I would prefer something dynamic that works for any year. Here's an example in pseudocode of what I am thinking:
DEF CONSTANT YEAR_AUX = [YEAR] THEN { FIXED [MONTH], [CUSTOMER_ID]: MAX(IF [YEAR]=YEAR_AUX-1 THEN [SALES] ELSE 0 END)} END
In other words, it should automatically detect the year I am in and then evaluate the sales data for the previous year. Is important to not use a parameter since this would only work for one year at a time. I need to create dashboards that can evaluate multiple years, comparing them against the previous one. Also I understand that using LOOKUP depends on the structure of your table, but I want a solution that works regardless of the table's structure, without altering the result.
