Unable to run Job periodcally on AWS EC2 instance of Tableau Server

    IssueWhen processing subscription jobs on an AWS EC2 instance of Tableau Server, the job may periodically fail to run, generating the error "com.tableausoftware.model.workgroup.util.EmailHelper - SMTP host <AWS SMTP server> (port 25) is unreachable. Cannot send email"

    Resolution

    Contact Amazon AWS Support for assistance on how to remove the throttle on port 25.

    Root CausePer Amazon AWS support: "In order to maintain the quality of Amazon EC2 addresses for sending email, we enforce default limits on the amount of email on port 25 that can be sent from EC2 accounts."
