Connecting Tableau Server to Postgres w/ SSL

We're using Tableau Desktop Pro and publishing to Tableau Server 7. We have Postgres database, which requires SSL.

From Tableau Desktop, we've tried connecting with the default Postgres driver, but it fails (apparently, doesn't support, or have the option to specify, SSL)

Using the ODBC driver (and specifying Postres, and requiring SSL), we were able to connect Tableau Desktop Pro to Postgres without any problems.

However, after we publish the workbook to Tableau Server, and specify to prompt the user for the password (instead of embedding the password), the ODBC connection never prompts for a password. It errors out with the following message:

fe_sendauth: no password supplied Unable to connect to the server "some.internal.database". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.

It appears to me that the ODBC connection is not prompting for a password, and sending some incorrect password instead, which causes the connection to fail.

Has anybody successfully created a workbook that connects to Postgres via SSL and published to Tableau Server?
