Geographical locations

I'm just getting started with Tableau Public and have created a simple vis based upon UK airports. Using the map feature I have tagged each airport using UK towns available from the drop-down menus. When I have saved the dashboard version to the web only locations defined by latitude and longitude are viasble. Does anyone know if this is a glitch and a common problem? Manually inputting location latitude and longtitude data is much more time consuming than using the drop-downs. I'd be grateful for any advice.
