KPI & Trend Indicators

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to create an indicator on my dashboard that will show:

A particular colour to indicate if the metric met target (i.e. Green = "Met Target", Amber = "Within 10% of target", and Red = "Not Met Target"), AND

Trend - if the performance of the metric is trending / moving in the right direction (i.e. an upward pointing arrow to indicate that the performance is improving; a downward pointing arrow to indicate that the performance is worsening; and an arrow pointing to the right for no change in performance).

Just wondering if anyone had managed to achieve this in the past or know how to do this?

After reading the various topics on the Forum, I've attached a packaged workbook with my attempts. In the attached, I've only managed to get to the point where I was able to create an indicator to show if the metric is "On Target" (i.e. point no.1). But I'm unable to hide the "Less than 10" row.

Please let me know if you need any further details. Otherwise keen to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Perry

Dynamic Table Headings Linked to Selected Values in Filters

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone had ever created tables where the headings change.

Specifically, I'm trying to create 1 dashboard with all business units showing but by applying user filters, one business unit will only be able to see their own business unit information. There are also three levels within the business unit hierarchy. As an example, the levels are:

BU Level 1: Country

BU Level 2: State

BU Level 3: City

The head of BU Level 1 will only see the levels sitting beneath his own business unit only.

Within the dashboard, I want to have tables displaying the data for each BU Level 2. Each BU level 1 will have a different number of BU Level 2's and the names will be different. Usually I would name the table the "Worksheet Name", however it would be great if there was a way the title of these graphs could change to reflect what is in the BU level 2 filter.

To illustrate I've uploaded a mock up of what I would like my dashboard to look like. So, the heading for Table 1 will be "State 1", the heading for Table 2 will be "State 2" and so on. Because the names of BU level 2's will be different for each BU Level 1, the headings will change depending on the user.

Is this possible? If so, I would be keen to hear of any suggestions!

Many thanks

PS: I hope what I would like to do is clear to anyone who reads this but please let me know if clarification is required.

Database error 0x80004005: Could not find installable ISAM. Unable to connect to the Microsoft Excel File

I'm trying to publish a Tableau file to the server and keep getting the error message:

Database error 0x80004005: Could not find installable ISAM.

Unable to connect to the Microsoft Excel file...Check that you have access privileges for the requested file and that it is not

open in another application. Errors occurred while trying to load the workbook <name of workbook>. The load was not able to complete successfully.

I am using Tableau version 6.1. Tableau Support suggested upgrading my video drivers. My internal IT team have done this for me and I still cannot view my workbook on the server.

I searched my hard drive to locate the file that the error message is pointing to, and I can't see it. I also looked in the Program Files > Tableau folder on my hard drive and the file's not there.

Finally I also asked one of my colleagues to publish the file to the server and the error message still appears. This message only appears for the files that I have attempted to publish for the last couple of days - I can see the other files that I've published last month.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? I would be grateful to hear any solutions that someone used to resolve this issue.
