Creating a measure from an OLAP dimension

I am working with dimensional data in an OLAP cube. In the cube, several pieces of data have been concatenated into a single text field. I want to be able to extract a specific part of the field, convert it to an integer data type and use it as a measure. Is this possible?

The data currently looks like this (in the dimensions area)

99258 - Washington: Spokane County

I want just the first five characters (actual zip code). I then want the zip code converted to an integer type and moved to the measures area so I can use it to geocode the data.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Workday Duration Calculations

I am trying to figure out a way to calculate durations between two dates in terms of the number of work days expressed full and fractional days, i.e.if the duration is 2 work days plus 4 hours, I'd like this expressed as 2.5 work days. I have tried a bunch of ways to calculate the fraction portion of this figure and I just can't figure out a way. I've attached a file with a sample of my data - the calculation needs to be made between "Open Date and Time" and "Close Date and Time". Ultimately I want to calculate averages and trends for these durations. The data in the file comes from Excel, and I could use Excel as an intermediary, but ideally I would like to attach directly to the data in a SQL database so the data can stay current, therefore, the calculations need to be done directly against data stored in a date/time format in SQL. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.
