Source has longitude and laitude but I cant assign them a geographic role..

Hi,

I'm new to using tableau so there is probably a simple explanation for this, I have an Microsoft SSAS data source which has longitude and latitude on a dimension. I have converted them to numeric data type. I've followed the guidance linked below but if I try an assign them a geographic role there isn't an option to assign latitude or longitude, just Area Code,City, Country etc.

any suggestion as to what I'm doing wrong? I'm using desktop 8.1.
