Is it possible to limit the sites to which user has publishing permission when choosing to publish in desktop

We are using 2 tableau sites. The default (which we are using as the production site) and a staging site.

We allow most users to publish to the staging site. We only allow a select few to publish to the production site.

Currently, even though a user may only have publish permissions to the staging site; the choose site pop up box is being displayed.

The user complains that if he accidently clicks the production site he gets the permission denied error and has to sign out of desk top and back in so he can chose staging.

Is there a way that only sites that he has publishing permission to are displayed? (so he can't make a wrong choice)
