Sets: Combining (more than 2) or Creating from multiple dimensions -- Option available in 7.0 but not 8.1?

Is there a way to create 1 set from multiple dimensions? Instead of 1 set per dimension?

In 7.0, you were able to ctrl+click multiple dimensions in a filter shelf then right click and create a "nest set" from your selection ( http://onlinehelp.tableausoftware.com/v7.0/pro/online/en-us/sortgroup_sets_create_nest.html). It doesn't look like 8.1 has this function, but it would make changing filters based on parameters much easier.

Right now to get a single view to filter 3 dimensions based on an "Include" and "exclude" parameter, I have to create 6 sets (Dimensions 1 through 3 for Include and 1 - 3 for Exclude ). Eventually I'd like to have 6 of these In/Ex views but that may mean 36 individual sets for a an otherwise small report.

How can I change filters based on a parameter selection?

I have multiple dimensions as filters on a worksheet (think "Account", "Regions" "Type", etc.) I have to exclude granular details (static -- always the same details) on some filters to whittle numbers down to the appropriate sum to be reported. We have a second sheet that uses the same filters but different granular details selected.

Is it possible to create a parameter that changes the includes/excludes (checking or unchecking particular boxes) of a filter? Ideally I'd like a parameter that just says "Include" or "Exclude" that will apply set filters to each dimension based on the user's selection.

How do I create independent columns as a specific calculated field?

I'm trying to create a report that's numbers only, no visuals, with a simple, independent difference column at the end (as a starting step for the entire report). Ideally I'd like to create something on par with the attached file. So far I've only been able to get tableau to create a difference column (B-A) for every single month such that instead of just Sept - Aug, I get Sept - Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, etc.

Creating a calculated field and dragging it in as a column also creates a visual where I only need numbers.

This normally takes less than a minute in excel but so far no luck with tableau -- Any suggestions?

accounting format color -- 2 Step color not working?

So I need to format negatives in red, with anything else in black -- Standard Excel style accounting coloring. When I click a measure drop down, select default properties, then color and apply a red/black 2 step color and hit ok, nothing happens. It remains black, even if I explicitly state the range in the advanced area of the color format.

Two questions here:

1. Why no negative red number?

2. Is there a quick way of simply applying this 2 step color to all numbers in a plane? Or does it have to be manually done one measure at a time?
