New sales by month

I have a data set that includes customer account number and sales from that account each month. I would like to create a report that uncovers new account ID's created in a given month, or even better, new accounts with sales over $50 (as an example). Would I need to do this with a calculated field in some fashion?

Weighted average change (MoM)

How would I do a “weighted average” calculation based on MoM change?
1. For example, an account changing from $2,000 to 6,000 in spend is much more significant than a $10 to $20 change. I would like to sort my results by the % change month over month.
How would I color an account that was new to the list?
1. Example: Customer FFFFF opened an account in March and began billing. I would like them to be colored green.

Number formatting

I am working with a text-based data download from a magazine. The revenue column is listed as:

$23 million

$19 million

etc...

Stupid I know, but how would I go through and change those text formats to numbers in millions? I tried custom formatting the field, but to no avail.
