Converting my date format into a format Tableau recognises keeping the formatting of the original excel file

My date format in excel is weeks in the format YYYYWW so row 1 is 201201 and then columns with metrics, row 2 is 201202 and so on. I want to display these weeks going across the x axis weeks 1 - 52 but I'm not sure how to get tableau to understand the format the date is in to show it on the x axis as 201201, 201202, 201203 etc? Hope this makes sense! THANKS!
