Hi All,

Firstly, thanks for reading my post. Secondly, I don't play soccer neither do I under anything about the game. I want to recreate the dashboard (attached) but I don't understand how to lay out the data to be able to achieve that and how would this play out in Tableau because, unlike regular sales or other corporation data, I don't have a primary key to play with. This is a new paradigm for me. Any input/suggestion would be appreciated.

Details:

Assumptions:
- Every win game gives 3 points.
- Every draw game gives 1 point.
- Every lost game gives 0 points.

At the end of every year the teams can go to European competition by this order:
- Position 1-4 Champions League
- Position 5-7 Europa League
- Position 8-17 No competition
- Position 18-20 Lose category

Column Headers:

puntos totales - total points

partidos jugados - played games

Goles en contra - Goals against

Partidos empatados - Tied matches

partidos ganados - won matches

partidos perdidos - lost matches

Goles a favor - Goals in favor

Calculation based on Quick Filter Selection

Hi there,

Here's a new mess I'm trying to deal with. I'd appreciate any help on this.

Problem Statement:

Based on the year selected in the quick filter. The reference lines should show the sales from prior year to what has be selected in the quick filter.

i.e.:

user selects: [2016]

bars show the sales for 2016

reference lines show sales for 2015

Any help would be appreciated.

MTD for all years

Hi folks,

I'm sure I'm not the first one to have this requirement. Looking for an answer to the problem below. I'd appreciate any help or even any pointers to articles or discussions where this issue has already been resolved.

Problem Statement:

We are in May, 2018. User needs to see the sales this year until May, 2018 and for the same period for all previous years.

Measure totals too large

Apologies as I can't attach the workbook because of confidentiality.

So, here's the setup:

Sources: A. Master (Excel) B. Target (Excel)
Master joined with target (Inner Join)
3 different clauses added to the join
- Plant
- Seller
- product

Q. Totals of the measures are turning out to be too large. A closer inspection of the data shows that Tableau is multiplying/duplicating data. Why is this so and how can I resolve it?

YTD, MTD radio button

Hey guys,

Trying to create something like the radio button in the Viz example below. The challenge is to make the entire dashboard show the YTD, MTD numbers with just one parameter. I've done a lot of research on this but haven't been able to get anywhere near this. I have been successful at getting YTD through a calculation but that restricts me to a single measure at a time. The impressive part about the Viz in the link below is that all the numbers in the sheets give the YTD numbers at once.

Any help would be appreciated.

User based Dashboard access

Hey Folks,

Here's an interesting requirement that I got today.

Need to control the access to the dashboard in a way that one sales person can't see the information of another.

Currently, the selection is based on the column that contains all of their names. I want to be able to give them all access to one dashboard 'Seller View' but don't want them to see each others numbers.

Data Source: excel sheets published on Tableau Server.
