Total colour ranges should be independent of main data set (bar charts, etc.)

Use case:

Creating a set of data which has bars, using a colour range to colour them and show the more significant data points. When I add totals, the colours are recalculated to include the totals so all the significant data points are lost visually.

Therefore when implementing colour ranges with bars and other similar visuals, the colour range for the Total should be independent of the main data set/visual.

See attached for example of why it's not a great experience

Calculated Fields for Browser Authoring

Enable the calculated field function of Desktop in browser authoring. There may have to be some governers set of this function because processing is happening outside of the client potentially - so for example, if the server execution time is > [x] seconds, or the function returns [y] rows of data then the request would either be limited or a notification sent indicating this is too much data to return.

How to Integrate custom data source

I have a proprietary data source (cube based) that I would like to integrate with Tableau - is there any API that exists to allow this, or would this be a more robust integration with Tableau professional services?
