1. Re: Maps - Adding areas to existing
Tim Dines Jun 20, 2019 7:19 AM (in response to Mark Hoffman)If you want to do this dynamically, what is the criteria? There are zip codes in red that are not adjacent to the orchid zip codes. There must be some process that would be done manually that we can recreated in a calculated field.

I'm using this one as an example. I just wanted to add the cluster of red zip codes in the upper left corner, to the orchid group of zip codes, Right now, I click and highlight the red zip codes I want, re-label them X Territory Added zips, dump them to excel, do a lookup in excel to add them to my master, and then I have a refreshed list. I though tableau would enable me to click over what I want, then click "add to" an existing location, but I don't see any of my existing locations, and can't find a way to make them appear so I can add to them. There are several territories, identified by a City name, within the field called "Territories". So it appears they are somewhat buried such that Tableau can't see them for me to add to them. At least that's the limit of my skill to this point. Just seems there should be an easier process to add any zip I want to any current territory definition I have.
Thanks for responding,
Mark

Checking to see if this message will get to you. The return location looks like an internal link.
If so, I’ve had to move on and finish this project in another manner. Thanks for reaching out.
