    la liga soccer data

    o russell

      Hi All,

Firstly, thanks for reading my post. Secondly, I don't play soccer neither do I under anything about the game. I want to recreate the dashboard (attached) but I don't understand how to lay out the data to be able to achieve that and how would this play out in Tableau because, unlike regular sales or other corporation data, I don't have a primary key to play with. This is a new paradigm for me. Any input/suggestion would be appreciated.

      Thanks in advance,

      Russell

          Hello Russell

I pivoted the data in Tableau and build some extra fields to:

1 - Get a proper Round number (the number that comes in ( ) next to the team name

2 - Define the Home and Away teams

3 - Define the point logistic that you mention (3 points win, 1 draw, 0 lost)

4 - Define the final classification table sections.

I also built some charts to show you how you can use the dataset to build ranks or follow the growth in points by each round (2 table calculations).

          I hope these helps

          Rodrigo
